Aliki was a very tough, wise and joyful Bouvier. She was special! She loved chasing rabbits, but settled for a ball when necessary. She loved the vineyard and the beach and swam with delight in San Francisco Bay. She was devoted to me and was a dear companion and guardian.

She developed osteosarcoma in her rear leg at the age of 11. She underwent amputation and chemotherapy. The cancer did not return. She did well with 3 legs, though it was not so easy for her to chase her beloved balls. She then learned that she could chase them easily while in the water! She also survived bladder and breast carcinomas – both of which were treated conservatively and from which she had no recurrences. She was a happy old girl enjoying her life with us and her Bouvier housemates until the age of 16 1/3 years. We were blessed.
