“Sterling”
Born January 28, 2012
Owned and loved by Kim Morisette, Lacey Curry, Mary and Jon Grove, and his guardian angel in heaven, John Morissette
Sterling, also known as “Ster Ster” or “Boo Bear” came into our world and completely turned it upside down. The immense talent and willingness to work he possessed was nothing we had experienced before. He forced us out of our comfort zone and into a world of dog sports we had never experienced before. From herding to dock diving to rally to agility, whatever you wanted to do, Sterling was down to partake, as long as he had two things: his people and food. Sterling has a small inner circle of people he allows to be a part of his world, but once you are in, you are in for life. It is not uncommon for him to see “his people” and run and body slam them, whether they are ready or not. If you have a free hand, he makes sure it is put to good use and he ensures that all his family members (two and four legged) know that his toys are for him only. He often has a stash of the “good toys” stuffed in his beds. He has a routine and sticks to it. Bedtime is always at 9:30 pm and you better be willing to get up by 7 am. Breakfast and dinner better be served on time and there better be fresh vegetables or cheese on it. He has quite the palate and your dining choices need to be up to par. Failure to meet his expectations results in many “sighs” and looks of judgement. At 13.5 years old, Sterling has slowed down physically, but mentally he is still as ornery and demanding as ever. If we let him, he would still compete in any sport we asked…. But now, his only requirement is to be our best friend. He is my heart and soul and always knows when I need a little extra love, the night my husband passed Sterling who very seldom got on the bed got into bed put his head on John’s pillow and his paw on my chest, one of the many reasons he is so special
